On behalf of CPA and WPA members, London Property Alliance has submitted its representations to Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt. Hon. Jeremy Hunt MP, ahead of next month’s Autumn Budget.
In our submission, the Alliance calls for tax changes and policy support to help drive London’s economic, social and environmental recovery – which is in turn an engine for UK growth and prosperity. These key asks include:
- Provide further fiscal devolution to the Greater London Authority and the London boroughs
- Progress an urgent review of the business rates system
- Undertake a comprehensive, independent assessment of the full impact of ending tax-free shopping for international visitors
- Provide grant funding for a more sustainable built environment
