London Real Estate Forum 2021

29 Sep 2021 to 30 Sep 2021

London Property Alliance (WPA and CPA) was proud to sponsor the 2021 London Real Estate Forum (29 & 30 September). Hosted at The Barbican, the theme of the conference was ‘resilient cities’: enabling future environmental, social and economic sustainability post-pandemic. The full conference report can be read here.

Westminster Property Association (WPA) held a private roundtable discussion on ‘What the West End needs to succeed through recovery.’ Moderated by WPA Chair Paul Williams (Derwent London – CEO), participants included public and private sector leaders from Westminster City Council, the GLA, WPA Board member companies The Portman Estate and JLL, and senior representatives from NWEC and M&S. The session explored initiatives designed to help attract visitors and workers back to the West End – ranging from innovations in retail, improving air quality and reducing traffic, public realm improvements, to al fresco dining.

WPA NextGen Chair Amanda Sheppard (Grosvenor Britain & Ireland – Senior Innovation Manager) chaired a panel discussion which explored the economic and cultural importance of the West End and how the area is undergoing a period of monumental transformation. The session (‘Tomorrow’s West End: Seize the moment’) was jointly sponsored by WPA & NWEC. Speakers included Andy Byford (Transport for London – Commissioner) and Debbie Jackson (Westminster City Council – Executive Director – Growth, Planning and Housing).

LREF 2021 closed with a drinks reception hosted by the WPA and NWEC, and featured a keynote speech from Andy Byford (Transport for London – Commissioner).
