London Property Alliance submission: Representation to the Energy Performance of Buildings regime

18 Mar 2025

On behalf of CPA and WPA members, London Property Alliance has submitted its response to the proposed reforms to the Energy Performance of Buildings regime published on 4 December 2024.

In the submission, the Alliance supports in principle measures to improve the accuracy, applicability and enforcement of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), Display Energy Certificates and air conditioning inspections.

However, we note that it is important that any reforms to the EPC regime are considered alongside forthcoming changes to the Future Buildings Standard and Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards. We therefore advise that the Government sets out a comprehensive programme of implementation, established in consultation with industry, that encompasses all forthcoming changes to the Energy Performance of Buildings landscape.
